Coronavirus (Covid-19) Official Guidelines

Updated Guidance 11/01/2022

From Tuesday 11th January in England, people who do not have symptoms but receive  positive lateral flow tests results will be required to self-isolate immediately, and won't be required to take a confirmatory PCR test.

This is a temporary measure while covid-19 rates remain high across the UK. Under this new approach, anyone who receives a positive LFT result should report their result on Gov.UK and self-isolate immediately, but will not need a follow-up PCR test.

After reporting a positive LFT test result, they will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace so that their contacts can be traced.

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, no matter how mild, you should take a PCR test.

Pupils who have a household contact, who is a confirmed case (PCR positive) need a PCR test and should not attend school whilst awaiting the result.
