Our Ethos

St. Laurence's C of E Primary school is committed to ensure that it's nature as a  church school is more than just words. We work hard to ensure that our Christian character underpins and directs both who we are, and what we do.

St. Laurence's School is a caring and friendly school where adults and children alike, share a passion for learning which is lived through our Christian values of;

Creativity - to fully develop our talents

Trust - we all seek to trust each other

Wisdom - to make the right choices

The ethos was created by the worship group after much deliberation and lots of chocolate biscuits!

Mission Statement

St Laurence's primary school seeks to promote the human characteristic of endeavour by:

a) adults modelling hard work and commitment;

b) having high expectations;

c) praising and celebrating effort;

d) providing a rich and broad curriculum;

e) providing an extensive extra curricular programme;

f) attempting to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed in some aspect of school life.

As a school we recognise that children cannot progress without endeavour. The governors and staff aim to create a culture and environment in which hard work and self-improvement is seen as the norm.

The school also wishes to promote the child's self esteem so that our children have the confidence to take on new challenges and make informed choices throughout their lives.

We want our children to be polite, caring, and tolerant; to take responsibility for their own actions and be aware that their actions affect the lives of others. We want our children to look after their own property and have respect for other people's property.
